What is vinyl lettering?
Vinyl lettering is the latest trend in home decor! Vinyl is an easy-to-remove, self-adhesive film that can be hung most anywhereóat home, in places of worship, at the office, on the car, or in the school. Vinyl can be hung not only on walls, but placed on refrigerators, windows, doors, cabinets, shelves, lockers, cars, books, tiles, smooth metal, plastic, the glass in your favorite photo frames, and on limitless other surfaces that personalize your living space. Vinyl creatively transforms your favorite quotes, scriptures, thoughts, and sayings into wall art that looks professionally hand-painted and applied without the time, cost, and mess. The pre-spaced, one-time-use letters and images, cut to perfection through computer technology, press onto any smooth surface and stay there until easily removed.
Where can vinyl be used?
Vinyl can be used on a multitude of surfaces, provided the surface is clean, dry, and basically flat. There are some paints, glazes, wallpapers, and finishes that won't hold vinyl well, so make sure you try a sample before you begin a project. Also, remember that glass and mirrors aren't as forgiving as other surfaces, so be extra careful when you're laying the vinyl. Using a glaze or a finishing product on top of the finished vinyl gives a different look to your project, but it is not necessary. We suggest that you avoid all aerosol (spray) topcoats; they cause your vinyl letters to curl upward. Besides the finished walls of a home, vinyl can be placed on most finished woods (ie. painted, crackled, sanded, stained), cabinet doors, old windows, picture frames, glass blocks, mirrors, shadowbox pictures, tiles (even in the shower!), lockers, doors, decorative plates . . . to name a few. The effects are visually stunning!
How do I apply vinyl?
Your lettering, also known as wall letters or wall words, will arrive pre-spaced between two sheets of transfer tape. Just peel off the grid backing, press the lettering to a surface, and peel off the top layer of transfer tape. Your vinyl lettering will be all that remains.
How do I remove bubbles?
Bubbles naturally form under vinyl, especially with glass and mirrors. The best way to remove little bubbles that don't press out under your vinyl, is by using a little straight pin or safety pin. Just poke a little hole, and press it smooth.
Placing vinyl on glass and mirrors
Using vinyl letters on the glass of your favorite picture frame, a shower door, a glass block, or a beautiful mirror is quite fun. The interior metallic colors like silver, copper, and gold, have a soft satin-look finish that makes glass and mirrors quite elegant. Etched vinyl is another fun finish to glass and mirror projects.
How do I remove vinyl lettering?
Vinyl lettering is easy to remove with a pair of tweezers or your fingernails. Just gently lift up the corners and slowly remove the lettering from your surface. If you have had the lettering on your surface for a long time, use a hair dryer on a low setting to soften the letters before removing. Just go slowly . . . for safety! You'll know how fast you can remove the letters after the first few are done.
HINTS: Razor blades work well for removing vinyl off glass and products like Goo-B-Gone and OOPS! help remove stubborn, sticky vinyl residue. (Be sure to test a small area first-these products also remove paint.)
How will my lettering arrive?
Your lettering, also known as wall letters or wall words, will arrive pre-spaced between two sheets of transfer tape. Just peel off the grid backing, press the lettering to a surface, and peel off the top layer of transfer tape. Your vinyl lettering will be all that remains. It is NOT transferable, so make sure you put it on the right surface the first time. You will receive application instructions with your order.
How long does the lettering last?
We use a high quality vinyl that is designed to last outdoors for three years (except in areas with extreme temperatures.) Since there are less dramatic changes in temperature and humidity indoors, the lifetime of the vinyl should be significantly extended. Vinyl is flexible, durable, and washable; it will not fade, crack, or peel when it is used indoors. However, as with anything that sits for years in continual sunshine, the paint and possibly the vinyl may fade in long-term sun exposure.
What are my payment options?
We accept cash, checks, money orders, or you can pay with a PayPal account. Just let us know the method you prefer. If you are paying by check, we will not ship until the payment has cleared. Be advised of this if you are in need of your order being rushed. For all other payments, as soon as they are received, we will ship.
What are my shipping options?
Generally, orders are shipped USPS 2-3 day Priority mail. Within the US, a average flat rate of $5.00 is charged per shipment, regardless of how much vinyl is ordered. Express mail overnight delivery is available through USPS for around $30, but it does not guaranteed overnight delivery to all areas. If you have special shipping needs, let us know. We respond quickly and will help rush your order in any way that we can. We are not responsible for delays with USPS deliveries. All products come with application instructions.

- Pencil a couple short measuring guidelines on your surface and tape the lettering to the guideline. (The tape acts as a hinge to flip up the lettering.) You can see the lettering through the semi-transparent top layer.
- Flip the lettering sheet upwards and slowly peel the backing paper off. Let the lettering rest on the semi-transparent top layer. (If the lettering wants to stick to the backing, slowly manipulate the backing to help the letter stick to the front layer.)
- Use some kind of hard edger, like a Pampered Chef scraper, and firmly rub over the lettering to secure it to your surface. Work from the center out on both sides letting the edger act as a squeegee over the lettering.
- Then, carefully peel off the sticky transfer paper to reveal your letters ... then enjoy!

The interior metallic colors like silver, copper, and gold, have a soft satin-look finish that makes glass and mirrors quite elegant. Etched vinyl is another fun finish to glass and mirror projects.
- Always wipe your glass or mirror down well so that dust particles do not create bumps under your vinyl lettering. Cleaning the glass with a diluted vinegar/water mixture is better than using household products like Windex; the vinyl tends to stick better.
- Products such as Rapid Tac and Action Tac (available at local sign shops) can be sprayed on the glass beforehand. They give you the ability to adjust vinyl on the glass or mirror before it sets, and the ability to press out tiny bubbles, which naturally form between vinyl and glass. The products then dry clear. It isn't necessary to use these products because they are kind of expensive, but they do save time and heartache if the vinyl isn't placed just right.
- To convert a favorite glass-enclosed picture frame into a see-through wall hanging, simply remove the backing and pull out the little metal holders. Then run a thin bead of clear bathroom caulk along the edge, place the glass on the adhesive, then run another thin bead of bathroom caulk on the glass, near the edge. With a wet finger, smooth the caulk and let harden, or cure, for 24-36 hours. Have the frame rest upside down during the "curing" process. Then scrape the excess caulk off with a razor blade and clean the glass. The surface is now ready to apply vinyl.
